MY FAVORITE BROW PRODUCTS

One of the first things you see on someone’s face is their eyebrows. No one is born with perfect eyebrows, but the great news is we can achieve an aesthetically balanced eyebrow look with just an eyebrow product or two.

Learning how to fill in my eyebrows has become a staple in my makeup routine the last few years especially after years of overplucking and waxing my eyebrows to stay on trend in the 90s. I have finally perfected my routine and found my holy grail products and I love to share my tips, tricks, and product favorites with all of my clients!

Brow Pencil

Brow pencils are amazing for achieving your perfect looking brow – whatever that looks like to you! With a superfine precise point, a brow pencil can be the best tool for creating realistic looking hair-like strokes. This is the product I would recommend to anyone who is interested in filling in sparse areas or even creating a shape that isn’t there. The grip on a pencil makes it easy to hold from different angles and allows for plenty of control over the shape you’re creating.

My absolute favorite eyebrow pencil is the Kosas Brow Pop Pencil. I love this because it has a tapered angle top, which I don’t see in too many eyebrow pencils. This shape helps me easily draw the hair-like strokes I’m looking for. The slimmer side to the pencil helps draw precise lines, but the wider part is helpful in filling in bigger areas. I personally use the Taupe shade which I think is a universal shade that actually works on many different people from blondes to brunettes. So if you’re unsure about what shade to choose, try taupe! This product is my absolute holy grail so if there’s one thing to take away from this…try the Kosas Brow Pop Pencil! You won’t look back and your eyebrows will thank you!

Brow Gel

I’m all about a natural looking brow, but if I ever want a little bit more volume and pigment, I love a tinted brow gel. Tinted brow gels give the illusion of more volume in your eyebrows and help them look more unified in color (great if you have some grey hairs, etc.!) Eyebrow gels in general are amazing for unruly brows or brow hairs that don’t all sit in the same direction. I love gels for when I want to tidy up my brows – it’s like a hairspray for your eyebrows! Also, brow gel can be layered on top of other eyebrow products like the pencil or powder!

If you want to keep your brows in place and keep them tidy, but don’t want the pigment, transparent gels are an amazing option for you!

Personally, I like the Kosas Airbrow Tinted Clean Volumizing Gel. Sometimes, I don’t have a lot of time to be shaping my eyebrows and drawing on each individual hair. Let’s face it: sometimes a quicker makeup routine is our only or better option. On days like that when I’m running out the door, it is so easy to just throw on some tinted gel! My brows look great and it took minimal effort!

Brow Pomade

Think of brow pomade like brow gel’s sister. These two are very similar, but pomade is just a bit of a heavier duty gel. These usually come in pots as opposed to gels that usually come in mascara-like tubes.

Pomades are awesome for holding the brows. Also, eyebrow pomade is made for filling in sparse hairs with a smooth and creamy gel-like texture. This will allow for a super well-groomed look and you can make your eyebrows super sculpted! A brow pomade requires you to use a separate brush, so that’s just something to keep in mind when picking out your brow products!

My favorite pomade is the Plume Nourish & Define Pomade because it’s unique in the way that while you’re filling in your brows with this product, it also has ingredients in the brow that nourish it and allow it to grow. This is a great option for someone who is looking to take that extra step to help their eyebrows grow.

Brow Powder

Brow Powder is perfect for when you’re looking for a more solid look, a more uniformly filled in look. This product is great for eyebrows with lots of gaps where you might not want to take the time to fill in a whole brow with a pencil. A brow powder is easier to use when you want to efficiently cover more surface area. A big pro for brow powder is that it is easy to correct and blend out the product. It’s more forgiving than a gel or pencil where you can’t really remove it without a makeup wipe or remover.

My recommendation for a brow powder would be the RMS Back2Brow Powder. The only thing I would keep in mind is just like the pomades, these usually come in little pots or pans, so you have to have a separate brush to use! RMS makes a great brow brush that won’t leave any harsh lines.
