3 WAYS TO SUPPORT BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Black History Month feels more important than ever. So how can we all get involved? There are many amazing options, but a great place to begin is by taking a look at how we shop and what we support when it comes to our beauty routines. I’m excited to let these ideas turn into a life-long practice of supporting our BIPOC communities and creating a world where people of all backgrounds are celebrated.

3 WAYS TO SUPPORT BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Donate, shop, & tune-in!

1 - DONATE

Organizations that make a difference

Clean beauty can be seen as a privilege, and we need to make the laws safer to protect everyone. Text BETTERBEAUTY to 52886 to urge Congress to pass safer beauty laws. Or, donate to one of my favorite nonprofit organizations like Black Women for Wellness, which aims to expand healthcare access, reduce toxic chemicals prevalent in the Black community, and build political advocacy.

2 - SHOP

Black owned beauty brands you need to try

By regularly purchasing more from Black beauty brands, you can help enhance the economic well-being of the Black community, and see an improvement in diversity across the beauty industry. Plus, your support means more companies will be driven to make changes that align with this demand, which benefits all of us in the end. Start with these favorites:

Briogeo, Mented, Oui the People, Shani Darden, and Unsun.

3 - TUNE IN

A Black makeup artist that inspires me everyday

On Saturday, February 20th at 2 p.m. ET, my friend, co-founder of Clean Beauty Artists and owner of Modern Green Goddess, Ky Washington, is hosting a virtual holistic beauty rituals class with Pink Moon that’s about mixing aromatherapy, crystals, and beauty. Ky has been one of my mentors for years, and I owe so much of my clean beauty knowledge to her. This is not to be missed!

How will you get involved or show your support? Reply back and let me know!
